In a small town near here, all the gearheads gather on Thursdays for a backroad cruise in their classic cars. Most drive vintage convertibles of one sort or another – from Chuck’s lovingly restored 1963 ‘Vette to Donnie’s cherished lemon-yellow Corvair. On blazing hot July days, they put their tops down and tug on caps like this one – ultralight and breathable with an aerodynamic shape that a headwind (hopefully) won’t dislodge. The cap’s wicking browband pulls sweat away from skin on hairpin turns. And it packs down to practically nothing to stow in a glove box or pocket until it’s time to hit the road again.
